Sweat Lodge

This is a traditional Anishnabe lodge. We will gather anywhere between 8 and 10 AM to prepare, and will try to get into the lodge around 10:00.

Children are invited with parents to come into the first round.

Men please wear T-shirts and shorts and Sisters, please wear T-shirts and a long skirt.

You’ll need a towel to sit on, a change of clothes, a potluck dish to share, and we ask for reciprocity of at least two armfuls of wood or $60 Per person.

There are four rounds, and we will most likely go for several hours. These things have their own time but typically we are out by two. We will also share pipe ceremony together.

You may leave the lodge at any time, it’s not an endurance contest. Women on their Moon time are welcome into the lodge.

This is a sober event, and we ask that all participants are substance free for at least 48 hours before the lodge.

If you’d like to participate, but have an issue with going into the lodge, you are welcome to help with the fire and just sit outside the lodge. This is considered as powerful and sacred as being inside the lodge. This is our seventh year in offering these lodges after receiving traditional training by an Elder from Canada. This particular lodge is a snake lodge, meaning the essence it holds, is one of transformation. This lodge will carry the theme of seed planting.

We welcome you with open hearts!

Into the Bones

Into the Bones

is an initiatory experience for people who are feeling longing for something just out of reach, or are hearing the whisper of their soul calling them home. For those intending to walk in the richness, the fierceness, the wildness of their true nature. For those willing to face the demons, and shadowy aspects of themselves. For those willing to navigate through the layers of false identity and untruth that once protected, but have now become like a skin that’s too tight, limiting, constricting, soul killing. Many times this type of soul sickness shows up as depression, anxiety, isolation, or a general feeling of emptiness.

Space is still available for this unique, bound to be unforgettable offering.

The soul lives contented by listening,
if it wants to change into the beauty of terrifying shapes it tries to speak.
That’s why you will not sing, afraid as you are of who might join you.
— David Whyte

With the assistance of nature, divination, fire ceremony, grief work, journey work, pattern release, bones, journaling, sound, storytelling, and soul retrieval, we will create a sacred container to unravel, gently, deliberately, the ancestral patterns, wounds, belief systems, soul contracts, stories, that keep us separated, fragmented, traumatized. The lies, the betrayals, stories that our families, society, and ourselves have placed upon us will be released as a precious offering, and in return, we are allowed entry into the richness of the core of our bones. The sweet marrow, where our spirit dwells.

This will be held in the sacred space of Indigenous Roots. It’s a cozy container and sanctuary that bears witness lovingly and gently. There are trails to walk.
